Medical Council Requirements For Degree Recognition

Most Medical Councils require MD degree to be listed in World Directory of Medical Schools (WDMS). Beside the following criteria are set by below mentioned countries known for educating students for MD degree.

  • UK – The General medical council (GMC) requires 5,500 clock hours in a span of 3 years.
  • India – The National Medical College (NMC) requires minimum 44 months along with a year internship.
  • USA – The Educational for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) requires a degree to be minimum 4 years.
  • Australia – The Australian Medical college (AMC) requires minimum of 4 years.
